Meeting Minutes: FD Meeting on 6/13/17


DISNEY FIRE DEPARTMENT

Meeting called to order by Mayor Chris Tuter at 7:00 p.m. on June 13, 2017, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Swearing in of the newly elected Trustees:   Mayor Chris Tuter, Lisa Cookson, and Shelly Martin.  (Reading of the Loyalty Oath and Oath of Office.)

Answering roll call:  Mayor Chris Tuter and Trustees Lisa Cookson, Norma Crockett, and Shelly Martin.  Quorum was declared.  Police Chief Larry Sanders and Town Clerk Janice Sharp were present.  Visitors signed in were Donna Bohnenstiehl, Russell Hogan, and Pam Despeaux.  Those same visitors were signed in to speak

1.  Fire Department report for May 2017 was given by Police Chief Larry Sanders, in the absence of Fire Chief Larry Sanders, Jr., reporting 2 medical calls; 0 fire calls; 1 training session on storm watching; 1 Fire Department meeting, 3 storm watches; and 0 water use.  It was also reported that the Disney Fire Department assisted the Tiajuana Fire Department in a response to a bus accident. 

2.  Trustee Martin made a motion, with Trustee Cookson seconding the motion, to approve the Fire Department’s regular session Meeting Minutes of May 9, 2017. Voting:  Tuter, yes; Cookson, yes; Crockett, yes; and Martin, yes.  Motion carried.

3.  Mayor Tuter made a motion, with Trustee Cookson seconding the motion, to table the discussion and possible action on reviewing and accepting quotes on building a bed for the Polaris side-by-side. Voting:  Tuter, yes; Cookson, yes; Crockett, yes; and Martin, yes.  Motion carried.

4.  Trustee Cookson made a motion, with Trustee Martin seconding the motion, to approve renewal authorization for the Volunteer Firefighter Group Insurance Pool. Voting:  Tuter, yes; Cookson, yes; Crockett, yes; and Martin, yes.  Motion carried.

5.  Old Business. Police Chief Sanders reported that the building was still being worked on, and that County Commissioner Ryan Ball had visited the project site.

6.  Unforeseen Business. None.

7.  Comments from Fire Department Board.  None.

8.  Approval of Adjournment. Mayor Tuter made a motion, with Trustee Crockett seconding the motion, to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 p.m.  Voting:  Tuter, yes; Cookson, yes; Crockett, yes; and Martin, yes.  Motion carried.
