Fire Department Board Meeting

April 10, 2018

Meeting called to order by Mayor Chris Tuter at 7:00 p.m. on April 10, 2018, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Answering roll call:  Mayor Chris Tuter and Trustees Lisa Cookson, Norma Crockett, and Shelly Martin.  (Mark Despeaux had announced his resignation from the Fire Department Board and Board of Trustees at the last meeting on March 13, 2018.)    Quorum was declared.  Fire Chief Larry Sanders, Jr., Police Reserve Officer Cody Henson, and Town Clerk Janice Sharp were present.  Visitors signed in were Cary R. Jester and Ed Crone.

1.  Fire department report for March 2018 was given by Fire Chief Sanders, reporting 4 medical calls; 0 fires, 2 motor vehicle accidents; 8 off-road vehicle accidents; 3 classes, to include training on fire investigations and fire gear; 1 fire department meeting; 0 storm watches; and 0 gallons of water used.

a) No discussion or action was taken regarding the maintenance report on the fire department vehicles.

2. Trustee Martin made a motion, with Trustee Cookson seconding the motion, to approve the meeting minutes of the Fire Department Board’s regular session meeting on March 13, 2018. Voting: Tuter, yes; Cookson, yes; Crockett, yes; and Martin, yes.  Motion carried.

3. A tentative date of May 12, 2018, was set for the firemen’s ball, with a benefit dinner at 6 p.m., at $15 per person and $30 per couple.

4. Old Business. None.

5. Unforeseen Business. None.

6. Comments from Fire Department Board. None.   

7. Approval of Adjournment. Mayor Tuter made a motion, with Trustee Martin seconding the motion, to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 p.m.  Voting:  Tuter, yes; Cookson, yes; Crockett, yes; and Martin, yes.  Motion carried, meeting adjourned.
